EDUCATION & GIRLS
Estrela da Favela is a Brazilian-Dutch NGO based in Mangueira, Rio de Janeiro, providing children aged 5 to 17 with education, sports, music, and essential life skills. The organization places a special focus on empowering girls, who are often marginalized in this male-dominated society.

SAFE ENVIRONMENT
We offer daily supplementary lessons in math, Portuguese, history, geography, and English. In the ‘Girls Club,’ girls find a safe space where they can speak openly and freely. Parents and guardians are also actively engaged in their children’s development through regular meetings and ongoing involvement.
SPORTS & CULTURE
Each week, children participate in beach tennis, football, and music lessons, and we regularly organize excursions to museums, exhibitions, and sporting events.
